We receive requests for visits all the time and welcome new teams who are ready for exciting and rewarding volunteer opportunities\u00a0with their dogs.<\/strong><\/div>\n

Purebreds and mixed breeds are accepted. \u00a0The dog must be at least one year of age, in good general health\u00a0and enjoy being around people of all ages–that’s a must! \u00a0Also, the dog needs to have been with its owner for at least one year.<\/strong><\/div>\n

Training in basic obedience is crucial\u00a0and the registering organization will require each team to pass an evaluation, as well as a health screening by a qualified veterinarian.<\/strong><\/div>\n

We can guide you through the process of becoming a nationally registered therapy dog team with Alliance of\u00a0Therapy Dogs<\/a><\/u><\/span>,\u00a0Pet Partners<\/a><\/u><\/span> or Therapy Dogs Int’l.\u00a0<\/a><\/u><\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n

Once you are a registered team, then you may fill out an application<\/a><\/u><\/span>\u00a0to become a member of Paws to Heal.<\/strong><\/div>\n
